Adding a headboard to your room is a great way to add style and your own personal touch. There are so many fun and unique ideas for headboards that I can’t decide which one I want to put in my room!

An old door is easy to update and can be placed in a number of ways to make it personal and adorable. I love how these doors that My Desert Cottage used have been painted to add a shabby chic feel to the room.


If you have access to a good flea market, shutters can be easy to find, like these ones Cottage in the Oaks used.  Shutters give off a very Southern vive and make me want to just relax in bed with some lemonade and a good book.


This simple pallet upcycled into a headboard unites rustic and elegant elements and is super easy to do.The Pretty Blog pairs this pallet headboard with more modern elements for a super trendy look. My husband would love this!


Wow Decor gave us the idea to use a pillow as a headboard. Attaching a long pillow to a floating shelf helps to create the perfect look for a whimsical cottage feel in the bedroom.


Shelves are perfect if you’re looking to add storage space but don’t want to deal with heavy and bulky dressers. The people over at Polyvore were our inspiration for this look. Using some storage shelves solves the storage problem while also giving you another space to show off your personality.


The people over at Home For Now had the great idea to use two rubber welcome mats as a headboard. Add a couple layers of paint and you have something budget friendly that is easy to move.

Tufted headboards are all the rage right now, and can cost over a thousand dollars. Homemade By Carmona has a great tutorial on how to get this look for yourself, but not break the bank.
