20 DIYs for Winter Decorating

We all know that a classic winter decoration is greenery. You can use it wherever you want! It looks great as a wreath, in windowboxes, or even in bouqets on your staircase railing.

Decorate Your Staircase For Christmas by BHG - Instead of swags of greenery trailing down the banister, try these greenery bunches. Natural birch branches form the backbone, but red twig dogwood or other branches would work just as well. Use thin florist's wire to lash them to the banister posts along with evergreens and sprays of bright red winterberries. Matte and glossy chartreuse ornaments add pops of color. Tie it all together with a chartreuse velvet ribbon.

Incorporate lanterns into your winter decoration to lighten up your home. Put them on the stairs, on tables, or even in your yard! You can fill them with candles, or with ornaments, ribbon, and even cranberries. Check out this article for more help decorating with lanterns!
