During your painting project, you may find yourself needed to take a break here and there. Picking up kids from school, attending to other responsibilities, and other things can come between you and your completed painting project. When you have to set the supplies down and step away for a few hours, take care to prep your supplies and you’ll save yourself time and money when you’re ready to jump back into the project.
Grab A Ziploc
Need to pause your paint job for a few hours or over night? Toss the roller covered in paint into a gallon sized ziplock bag. Zip it up and store it in the fridge.
Fix A Dried Out Roller
If you washed a roller only to find crusty bits of paint on it later, don’t worry. You can trim off the dried paint spots and still use the roller.
Hang to Dry
After washing your paint brushes, be sure to dry the hanging upside down. This allows the water to escape the bristles better and you’ll avoid paint pooling near the handle.
Wrap It Up
If you’re out of ziplock bags, wrap your paint covered tools in tin foil to save for use later.
Save The Tray
Have a tray full of paint you need to use again tomorrow? Stick the whole thing in a plastic bag, wrap up tight, and store in the fridge.
Cling Wrap To The Rescue
Cover trays and tools in cling wrap to save for later use without having to fully wash.
Trash Bags
Another good go-to material for wrapping and storing paint covered brushes is your spare grocery bag.
Time To Really Clean
When your painting project is all done, try this radical way of quick-cleaning your paint rollers.
