How To Clean Your Dryer Vent
1. For easy cleaning, I recommend picking up one of these dryer vent cleaning kits. The kit, paired with a vacuum cleaner is all you need to make the inside of your vent squeaky clean.Â
2. Start by cleaning out the lint trap. Remove the trap fully from the dryer and use one your lint brush from the kit to clean the inside of the trap, as well. Remove as much as you can with the vent cleaner brush and use a vacuum attachment to get in there and clean out the rest. You will likely need to repeat the process more than once. Repeat it until there is no longer any lint being removed.Â

3. Once your lint trap is clean enough, move on to the dryer vent in the back of the washing machine. To clean, use the large vent brush included in your kit to get back there and really clean. Carefully spin the brush as you clean out the duct. Remove the brush and clean off any lint that might be attached. More often than not, the vent itself is pretty clean because a majority of the lint was stuck inside the dryer.Â
