Spackling Paste

Now we have to state the obvious – Spackling is the best way to fill nail holes. But we don’t all have spackle lying around the house when we need it. In case you’re in need of a quick fix, then keep reading because we have a few household items you could use instead.

Toothpaste

White toothpaste has basically the same effect as spackling. Use your finger to press the toothpaste into the hole and allow it to dry. Wipe away excess toothpaste and touch up the whole with paint.

Elmer’s Glue

Regular old glue will fill a hole in a pinch. Take a glue stick and rub it across the surface of your hole. Wipe off any excess glue.

Baking Soda

Create a paste with baking soda and water. A more solid hold could be made by mixing baking soda with your liquid elmer’s glue. Fill the hole, sand away excess, and paint over.

White Soap

This option should be saved as a last resort. But it’ll work! Rub the soap over the hole, smooth with a rag, and paint over!
