There are some quite useful things that we need around the house, and they must live outside. But just because we need them doesn’t mean we have to live with the sometimes ugly look of them. If you’re interested in camouflaging those ugly necessities, then this is the post for you. Take a look at some ingenious ways to hide your outdoor eyesores.
1. Perhaps most the most famously ugly {and often stinky!} eyesore of all are the trash cans and recycling bins that we all have to have. You don’t, however, have to keep them on full display. Build a lovely lattice enclosure to hide them. This one even has a little garden on top.
2. From Gardener’s Supply Company, purchase a faux rock to disguise pipes, well heads, or utility meters that have to be in your garden.
3. This tall outdoor kitchen and fireplace effectively hides the neighbors garden that is a little too close!
4. Hide your air conditioner’s outdoor condenser unit by building a DIY A/C unit cover. It’s easy to do and very effective!
4. Check out That’s My Letter for an awesome planter that no one will know really houses your garden hose.
5. If you’ve got a pool, you can get a pump enclosure like this one from Peter Walker Furniture. The hinged lid keeps it easily accessible.
6. Those of you with an electrical meter on the back wall of your home will appreciate this DIY wood screen from Remodelaholic.
7. Turn the space underneath an elevated deck or stairwell into handy storage space for just about anything you’d store in a shed.
The first one will come in really handy for our home, best solution I’ve seen so far!
