I remember designing our home theater like it was yesterday. My husband and I always dreamed of a place that we could entertain guests and watch movies together as a family. I was even more excited when I found a vintage popcorn machine to go with it! If you have similar goals for your home, check out one of these incredibly easy home theater designs.
Home Theater Designs Ideas
Modern: Go for a more modern design with tones of dark and light greys and tons of chic seating. You could even panel the walls like the homeowner did below to really give it a feel like a real movie theater. Dark backgrounds are always best when watching movies!
Classic: Of course, you can never go wrong with a classic home theater design! Take a look at the photo below to get inspired when designing your own theater. You can’t go wrong with the classic deep red walls and the lounge seating.
Home Theater Designs: Theater Seats
Velvet: I like the look of velvet seating in a theater but it doesn’t have to be a classic red color. Why not go with something a little edgier like sky blue?
Bean Bag Chairs: Who wouldn’t like to spend a day watching movies in comfy bean bag chairs like these? Add in a few throw pillows to the mix and I know that I would never leave!
Home Theater Designs Small Rooms
You don’t need tons of space to create your own home theater. You can make it happen in the smallest rooms, too! Take a look at the idea below: the tiny space is streamlined with glass cabinets and a large television screen. Add a comfy couch into the mix and you don’t need much else.
Home Theater Designs Decor
No home theater is complete without plenty of wall decor. A few of my favorite ideas include making your own movie posters (see tutorial here) or even your own DIY sconces.
You can even frame your board games (store the pieces of the game on the back of the board game board) and hang them up as wall decor. Simply take the board off the wall when you are ready to play!
